Resistance Bands Color Chart
What are the Resistance Levels for Resistance Bands?
It can get very confusing to figure out the weight progression of resistance bands. That’s because there is no standard color for bands.
For example, a green band you buy from Company A can be their lightest band, yet Company B can have green bands that are their highest resistance.
Here are the resistance levels for the bands that come with your Tension Toner. Please note that all 5 bands come in the Deluxe pack.
Yellow - 10 lbs
Blue - 16 lbs
Green - 20 lbs
Black - 24 lbs
Red - 36 lbs
Resistance Band Weight Chart
If you’re in the middle of a set and want to change out your resistance band for the next highest weight, here’s a visualization trick to help you remember the weight progression.
If you’re more right-brain like me, then you might find this band progression visualization helpful.
The yellow and red bands are the lightest and heaviest weight (respectively). They are opposites.
And what comes to mind when you think of the colors yellow and red? To me, yellow means happy and red means angry. Again opposites.
When you mix yellow with blue, that equals green. So there you have the first 3 bands in the sequence - yellow, blue, green.
Then the last two bands are black and red. We know red is last, and smoke always comes before fire.
So there you have the full sequence- yellow, blue, green, black and red.
